Oklahoma has for a long time been interrelated with Bingo. That’s because the Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for years. Clients from every one of the neighboring states load up in passenger cars and head over to Oklahoma to bet on Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 (IGRA) Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a landmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year prior. Since that time, 23 of the thirty nine Amerindian bands located in Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma American Indian tribes to take advantage of the betting restrictions, and today run 10 casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these casinos were built on. digital games like slot machine games were not allowed, on the grounds that they are thought to lead to gambling dependency at a higher rate than bingo.
In recent years, Oklahoma law has altered to allow for massive Native gaming gambling dens. You will now find American Indian gambling halls with slots, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Indian casinos as of yet, although that is only a matter of time. No one can say what having different games in the bingo parlours will do for the draw of bingo.
