Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. That is due to the fact that the Indian bands of Oklahoma have run Bingo sessions for decades. Guests from many of the neighboring states get in autos and head over to Oklahoma to play Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a precedent setting ruling by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. Since that instance, 23 of the thirty nine Indian tribes of Oklahoma have introduced bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the first Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today operate ten casinos of their own. Bingo was the game on which these casinos were built on. digital games like slot machine games were not allowed, on the grounds that they’re thought to lead to gambling dependency more than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to permit large Amerindian wagering casinos. You’ll now find Amerindian casinos with slot machine games, video poker and blackjack tables. Craps and roulette are still not legal in the Amerindian gambling dens yet, but that is only a matter of time. Nobody can determine what having other games in the bingo parlours will do for the popularity of bingo.
