Oklahoma has long been interrelated with Bingo. This is because the American Indian tribes of Oklahoma have operated Bingo sessions for generations. Patrons from many of the nearby states get in vans and travel into Oklahoma to bet on Bingo for the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA) followed a landmark determination by The U.S. Supreme Court the year before. From that time, twenty three of the thirty nine Amerindian bands of Oklahoma have opened bingo halls. The Chickasaw were the 1st Oklahoma Native tribes to take advantage of the gaming restrictions, and at this time operate ten gambling dens of their own. Bingo was the game on which the above-mentioned gambling halls were founded. computerized games like slot machine games weren’t authorized, since they’re believed to lead to gambling addiction at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to permit gigantic Amerindian wagering casinos. You will now discover Indian gambling halls with slot machine games, video poker and vingt-et-un tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the Native gambling halls yet, although this is simply a waiting game. Nobody can determine whether having other games in the bingo parlors will do for the appeal of bingo.
