Oklahoma has for a long time been analogous with Bingo. This is owing to the fact that the American Indian bands of Oklahoma have operated Bingo games for years. Guests from each of the neighboring states pile in passenger cars and travel to Oklahoma to enjoy Bingo on the weekends.
The 1988 Indian Gaming Regulatory Act was introduced after a precedent setting determination by The U.S. Supreme Court just the year prior. From that instance, twenty three of the thirty nine American Indian bands located in Oklahoma have opened gaming halls. The Chickasaw were the initial Oklahoma Indian band to take advantage of the gambling rules, and today run ten casinos of their own. Bingo is the game on which these gambling halls were founded. computerized games such as slot machine games were not permitted, since they’re thought to lead to gambling problems at a higher rate than bingo.
In the past few years, Oklahoma law has changed to permit big Amerindian gambling casinos. You will now discover American Indian casinos with slots, video poker and 21 tables. Craps and roulette are not approved in the American Indian gambling halls as of yet, although that is just a matter of time. Nobody can determine what having other gambling den games in the bingo parlours will do for the appeal of bingo.
